Caraga Food Caterers Receive Training from FNRI

Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) of the DOST conducted the Meal Management and Food Safety Training-Seminar for Small-scale Caterer’s in Butuan City.

Thirty – two (32) participants from the provinces of Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur who are engaged in enterprises like catering services, restaurant and other food establishments convened together to enhance the food and nutrition manpower capability in the region. Primarily, the event was intended for service crew members, meal planners, and food handlers to improve the quality and safety of meals they serve to the customers.

Three resource persons from the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI), Manila, to wit: Ms. Josefina T. Gonzales, Ms. Paula C. Huelar and Ms. Marietta M. Bumanglag handled the Training – Seminar. A combination of lectures, workshop, participative discussion, presentation and critiquing of workshop outputs were involved in the activity.

Overall, the participants gained new learning as well as relevant information on how to effectively and to efficiently bring food satisfaction to their customers. This activity also enabled the participants to evaluate their current meal management and food preparation practices.
