DOST Caraga attracted some 500 booth visitors to participate in the different activities of DOST’s booth exhibit in the recently concluded Caraga Trade and Marketing Exposition or Carat Expo 2016 last November 9-13 at the Robinsons Place, Butuan City.
The booth exhibit aimed to generate public awareness of DOST’s projects, programs and services to the people of Caraga. It also provided an opportunity for DOST to build networks and linkages for possible S&T partnerships and interventions, most especially in the agriculture, marine and aquaculture sector.
The information and promotions team of DOST Caraga focused on the four programs/projects relative to the event—the Small Entrepreneur Technology Upgrading Program, the Packaging and Labelling Assistance, the Regional Standards and Testing Laboratory, and the Food Safe Caraga Campaign.
Aside from these four highlighted programs, the booth also became a venue to promote other programs, projects and services of the agency through Information and Educational Communication (IEC) materials like display boards, leaflets, brochures, and videos. A consultancy corner was also put up to interested clients.
The Caraga Agricultural Trade and Marketing Exposition targets to bolster the agricultural trade in Caraga and promote Lobster as the Region’s product brand. It became the first region-wide exposition held in the field of Agriculture, Marine and Aquaculture. The activity was co-organized by the Butuan Chamber of Commerce, Winrock International and the Department of Trade and Industry.
